Our many study abroad opportunities, language-specific honor societies, awards, and other student opportunities provide students of 世界语言和文化 with plenty of chances to expand their learning outside the classroom.

的 is the National German Honor Society, founded at Wofford College in 1929. δφ Alpha seeks to recognize excellence in the study of German and to provide an incentive 申请更高的奖学金. 的 Society aims to promote the study of the German language, literature and civilization and endeavors to emphasize those aspects of German life and culture which are of universal value and which contribute to man’s eternal search 为了和平与真理.

的 Tau Iota Chapter of 的 was chartered at 九州娱乐官网 in 2014. 的 faculty advisor for the Tau Iota Chapter is Professor Nicole Grewling.

To qualify for membership in the Society students must have:

  • Completed a minimum of two years of college or university German or their equivalent.

  • Indication of continued interest in the study of German language and literature.

To qualify for membership in the Society students:

  • Must have completed three years of study of college-level Spanish or the equivalent, including at least one course in Hispanic literature or culture.

  • Must rank in the upper 35% of his/her class and must have completed three semesters 大学工作.

A student may be admitted while still enrolled in the required Hispanic literature course if all other requirements have been met and if the instructor certifies that 这个学生的功课至少是B级.

World Languages and 文化 students who have been accepted to study abroad for one or two semesters or an approved credit bearing summer program are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to 世界语言和文化 majors first and minors second.
